About us
Our story of humble beginnings
The Psoriasis Awareness and Wellness Initiative (PSORAWELL) is a non governmental, not for profit advocacy organization which aims to support Nigerian patients through peer interaction, education and training for patients, carers and healthcare providers; and facilitate research that imropoves the management and quality of life of patient with psoriasis in Nigeria. This initiative is powered by the Psoriasis In Nigeria Educational Campaign (PINECAMP). It started with the support of the International League of Dermatology Societies and the International Federation of Psoriasis to provide a forum for support, education and interaction for all patients with psoriasis in Nigeria; their family members and caregivers; and healthcare professionals. Our overall purpose is to improve care, outcome and quality of care of people with psoriasis.
Specific Objectives
To provide practical training and education for patients and caregivers on effective psoriasis management and self-care.
To raise public awareness about psoriasis through traditional and social media, thereby reducing stigma and misconceptions
To advocate for improved access to affordable and effective medications and quality healthcare services for psoriasis treatment in Nigeria
To promote and support research on the epidemiology, pathophysiology, clinical characteristics, and management of psoriasis in Nigerian populations, including the publication and dissemination of findings.
